This Thursday’s Tasmania JackJumpers Championship Game 4 has sold out in just minutes, much to the disappointment of many fans.

The match against Melbourne United will be played at Hobart’s MyState Bank Arena from 7:30pm in front of a home crowd.

“We have had overwhelming demand for tickets, particularly for this game,” Club CEO Christine Finnegan said.

“We’re delighted to have another full house for what could be a Championship-deciding game and to have the full support of the Tasmanian public.”

“We understand many people are disappointed and frustrated that they weren’t able to secure tickets, however with the current capacity of the Arena, we do have a huge supply and demand issue and we cannot accommodate for every fan who would like to attend.”

While the “vast majority” of Priority 1 members did take up their pre-sale opportunity, several hundred tickets that went on sale to Priority 2 members on Tuesday morning were snapped up within 10 minutes of release.

Finnegan said efforts were underway to broadcast the match on big screens at venues around the state and hoped to make an announcement ahead of the game.

“We wholeheartedly appreciate everyone’s support and everyone within the club feels the energy from the Tasmanian public,” she said.

The Tasmania JackJumpers have sold out all 18 home games in NBL24 and every game in the club’s three-year existence due to the limited capacity of MyState Bank Arena.

Fans who missed out are being warned to avoid third-party sites while hunting for tickets, as “scalping activity may be prevalent”.

“MyState Bank Arena, nor the club, has any oversight of these sites or consumer protection,” Finnegan said.
