Launceston man charged with loitering near children after Riverbend Park incident

A man from Launceston has been charged with “loitering near children” following an incident at Riverbend Park in Invermay.

The 55-year-old was arrested on Saturday after police received reports of a “suspicious male” in the area.

He is also facing several drug and driving offences, including driving with an illicit substance in his system and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

The man was bailed to appear in court at a later date.

“Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers,” police said.
