The acting Mayor of Launceston has welcomed a new addition to his family.
Matthew Garwood and his partner Michelle welcomed Billie Rainbow to the world on Wednesday, in what he called an “unexpected early arrival”.

Weighing 6.07 pounds or 2.7kgs, Garwood said the birth required an emergency C-section and saw Billie enter the world in a rather unconventional manner – butt first.
“Hey, you guys haven’t got enough going on.. imma coming out.. butt first!” he said.
The Garwood family’s joyful surprise came three weeks before the expected due date.
