A Hobart man is planning a retirement filled with travel and adventure after striking it rich in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The lucky local was one of 21 division one winners across the country in Saturday’s draw, taking home a total $952,380.96.
“I’m speechless!” he told an official from The Lott. “It’s very nice! I’m glad you called. I’m still waking up, but you could ring me at 3am with that kind of news.”
The anonymous man said he wasn’t planning on checking the ticket he purchased online for a few days.
“This has come at just the right time. It allows us to get ahead,” he said.
“We’ll pay off some bills and we’d love to plan a big holiday and help the children.”
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4489 on July 27 were 4, 37, 45, 27, 11 and 20, while the supplementary numbers were 15 and 10.
Eight division one winners were from Victoria, five from New South Wales, four from Queensland and two each from South Australia and Western Australia.
