More snow and showers on the way for Tasmania after freezing mornings

After shivering through subzero mornings, Tasmania is set to experience another good snow event, along with showers and frosts this week.

Liawenee was the coldest part of Tassie Wednesday morning, with the temperature dipping to -6.3 degrees.

Fingal was the second coldest, dropping to -6C. In the south, Grove recorded -3.6C.

The Bureau of Meteorology say snow will continue to fall across the week, with a ‘good snow day’ at Ben Lomond expected this Friday.

They said Tasmania was in for more frosty mornings this week with light winds and cold nights.

Showers are forecast for Hobart from Thursday until at least Tuesday, with daytime temperatures not expected to get above 14C.

It’s a similar forecast in Launceston, with a chilly start expected Thursday at 1C.
