Over 1,400 TasNetworks customers remain without power this morning as a result of the recent storm, with 66 outages still affecting parts of the state.
The company said field crews and external contractors made “good progress” over the weekend, reconnecting over 900 customers.
“The remaining outages represent the worst storm damage, requiring complex repairs and resulting in delays for some customers,” a spokesperson said.
“Rest assured our crews and contractors are working hard to restore power to our customers as soon as safely possible.”
The outages are primarily located in the state’s north and north-west, with 61 outages spread across the region.
The remaining outages are spread across the south, with two in the Huon Valley.
TasNetworks said updates will continue to be provided through its website and SMS messages.
“Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work around the clock to restore power across the state,” the spokesperson said.
The state government has made grants available to Tasmanians who have experienced extended power outages as a result of storm damage.
Grants of $2,000 are available through the Department of Premier and Cabinet website for customers who have been without power for seven days, up to a maximum of $10,000.
