TasNetworks crews have successfully restored power to the majority of customers affected by last week’s severe weather event.
Only around 550 remain without electricity, many impacted by “some of the worst storm damage” that hit the state.
Just over 30 outages continue to impact parts of Tasmania, most of which are “hard-to-reach” faults that will require complex repairs.
“Crews are continuing to work through the smaller outages,” a TasNetworks spokesperson said.
“What remains [will require] a lot of time and crew resources to fix.”
“Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.”
The state government is offering grants of up to $10,000 for Tasmanians who have experienced extended power outages.
Households can apply for a grant of $2,000 for a seven-day period and can re-apply for any subsequent seven days of outages.
Applications can be made through the Department of Premier and Cabinet website.
