A car fire that tore through a Queenstown home early on Saturday has been deemed a deliberate act of arson.
Emergency services were called to the Dilger Court address around 5am on Saturday to find a car engulfed in flames within the home’s carport.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze but could not prevent it from damaging the car parked inside.
Investigators have since determined the fire was deliberately lit and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
“Anyone with information in relation to the fire or suspicious activity in the area at the time, is asked to contact Queenstown Police on 131 444 or provide information through Crime Stoppers Tasmania,” police said.
“Information can be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers at crimestopperstas.com.au or on 1800 333 000, quoting OR762442.”
