The Alex Gadomski Cup, now in its seventh year, will be held this afternoon to raise awareness and funds for the Alex Gadomski Fellowship.

The event honours the life of former St Virgil’s student Alex Gadomski, who passed away from bone marrow failure at 21 in 2017.

The annual fundraiser supports Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision in researching Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome.

AFL teams from St Virgil’s College and The Hutchins School will compete in the cup, bringing together students from junior, middle and senior years to support the cause.

Despite the rivalry between the two schools on the field, the event showcases sportsmanship and courage, with players understanding the honour and expectations that come with participating in the Gala Day.

Alumni from both schools, staff, parents and community members are invited to show their support at the Hutchins War Memorial Oval in Sandy Bay.

Year 5/6 will play at 11am, Year 7/8 at 12:30pm and Year 9/10: 2:30pm.

The games will be live-streamed on Youtube through Duff TV.
