A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Tasmania.
The Bureau of Meteorology says slow-moving storms in a “moist and unstable atmosphere” are causing localised heavy falls about remote parts of southern Tasmania.

“Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours,” the bureau said.
20mm of rain was recorded at Fools Ridge in the 30 minutes to 7:33pm on Saturday, while a number of lightning strikes have been recorded in the Southwest National Park.
