A man has been arrested after a stabbing incident in Launceston left another person with serious injuries.
Police and emergency services responded to Tompsons Lane in Newnham around 2:45pm on Wednesday after receiving reports of a stabbing.

The victim was taken to the Launceston General Hospital with serious injuries, while a man was taken into custody at the scene.
“Police remain at the scene and there is no threat to the wider community,” a spokesperson said.
It is understood the incident occurred at a home on the street.
