This year’s stripped-down version of the popular Dark Mofo festival is set to lure in thousands of visitors to Hobart, despite a break from the usual full program of art and music events.

Come June, the festival will focus on the Winter Feast, featuring world-renowned chefs and out-of-this-world dishes like deer antler ice cream made from deer milk and drizzled with ‘deer blood’ caramel.

The revamped Winter Feast will showcase 80 stallholders, including 25 fresh faces from around the state and will welcome everyone for free on Sundays and after 9pm every night.

“I know we said Dark Mofo would stay quiet, but Winter wouldn’t feel the same without the chance to feast and frolic during the long Tasmanian nights,” Dark Mofo Artistic Director Chris Twite said.

The fan-favourite Nude Solstice Swim at Long Beach in Sandy Bay has also been expanded to be the ‘biggest ever’, with tickets to the Friday, June 21 event expected to sell out quickly.
