Tasmania Police officer taken to hospital after training incident at academy

A police officer has been taken to hospital following a crash during driver training at the Tasmania Police academy in Rokeby today.

The officer was reportedly undertaking “routine driver training” at the time of the incident around 9:20am.

A police spokesperson told Pulse the officer, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital as a precaution and has since been released.

The police vehicle sustained damage in the crash, the extent of which has not been revealed.

Fortunately, no members of the public or other police staff are understood to have been involved in the incident.
