Crash in Dunalley brings down powerlines, leaves 800 without electricity

A car crash in Dunalley has left around 800 homes and businesses in the region without power.

The vehicle struck a power pole around 2pm on Wednesday, bringing down lines and disrupting electricity supply to homes in Sorell, Dunalley, Copping and surrounding areas.

TasNetworks crews are on the scene and working to restore power.

“Customers on the Tasman Peninsula briefly lost power, before it was restored by switching feeders,” a spokesperson said.

“Please stay at least 10 metres clear of any fallen power-lines or other damage and report it to TasNetworks on 132 004.”
