Tasmania’s top chefs are set to come together again at Wrest Point this August for the fifth annual Variety of Chefs event.

The fundraiser aims to surpass last year’s record of $130,000, supporting the Variety School Breakfast Club.

With less than 10 tables remaining, organisers are urging people to act fast in booking their seats to avoid disappointment.

“Funds raised from Variety of Chefs will support the Variety School Breakfast Club and ensure more children across Tasmania have access to breakfast at school every day,” Variety Tasmania CEO Mohammad Aldergham said.

“We’ve now more than doubled the reach of the Variety Breakfast Club, which is now in 22 schools, providing a nutritious breakfast for over 5,000 kids.”

“There are another eight schools on our waiting list and the funds raised will help to make sure more schools are able to participate and more students benefit.”

Drink partners include Bream Creek, Derwent Estate, 3 Cuts Gins and Home Hill.

Wrest Point Executive Chef Andre Kropp said the event is a key date on their annual calendar.

“Variety of Chefs is an important fundraising event that will have an impact that lasts well beyond a good night out,” he said.

“It’s incredible to think that every $100 raised provides breakfast for a Tassie kid for an entire school year through Variety’s Breakfast Club.”

“That’s what makes the event unique. It’s a chance to both enjoy incredible food prepared by incredible chefs as well as helping Variety meet the growing demand for its Breakfast Club.”
