Police say all three vehicles involved had single occupants, who were all rushed to hospital following the incident.

A 17-year-old Latrobe man remains in the Launceston General Hospital in a serious but stable condition, while a 26-year-old man escaped with only minor injuries.

The 19-year-old Devonport man died at the Mersey Community as a result of his injuries.

While the full circumstances and cause of the crash remain under investigation, police say there was a ‘significant downpour’ at the time, which is believed to be a contributing factor.

They ask anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them on 131 444 and quote job number 320-18062023.
