Three men have been arrested after a gun was allegedly fired from a vehicle towards a person on a Glenorchy street overnight.
Police received reports of the incident on Ballard Street in New Town around 10:30pm on Thursday.
Officers arrived a short time later, but the alleged victim had left the scene.
“Initial investigations indicate a person may have been injured before leaving the area on a scooter,” police said.
“While the alleged victim has not been located, police believe the people involved in the matter are known to each other.”
The trio were taken into custody at 4am after a search of the area.
Investigators believe the incident was “targeted” and would like to speak to anyone with information about the potentially injured person, a white vehicle in the area at the time or other suspicious activity.
