1,000+ plunged into darkness as crash causes power outage in Howrah and Tranmere

Over 1,000 homes in Howrah, Rokeby and Tranmere are currently without power tonight after a vehicle crashed into a power pole.

A white ute reportedly brought down the pole, severing wires and cutting electricity to homes in the area, with police saying “no one” was found with the vehicle.

TasNetworks is yet to provide a time that power will be restored, suggesting properties may be in the dark until after 11pm.
