A woman accused of setting fire to a bedroom in a Launceston home has been charged with arson.
The deliberately lit blaze at the Canning Street property caused $5,000 in damages on Tuesday evening.

Police said officers who responded to the incident managed to contain the blaze to a small area of the home before the arrival of firefighters.
The 42-year-old from Conara will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at a later date.
