At 7am, crews had been able to restore power to over 1,000 customers through switching.

A spokesperson was hopeful the remaining 300 impacted customers will be reconnected by this afternoon, as the damaged pole will likely take most of the day to replace.

A separate outage at Mt Nelson in Hobart also knocked out power to around 100 properties due to a burned-out loop.

The suburb was part of a broader outage overnight that affected much of Mt Nelson and Sandy Bay after a tree clipped high-voltage lines.

That was resolved by 7am, TasNetworks said.
