11 people are facing charges after a police operation in southern Tasmania uncovered illegal firearms, drugs and stolen property.
The three-week “coordinated and sustained” operation saw detectives execute 14 search warrants across the region.
Police seized seven illegal firearms, including 3D-printed and homemade weapons, along with quantities of MDMA, methylamphetamine and cannabis.
Three stolen vehicles were also recovered and an additional 26 firearms were seized for storage breaches.

Detective Inspector Mark Burke said the operation showed police commitment to disrupting firearm-related harm.
“Illegal firearms and the criminal activity that surrounds them present a very real risk to community safety,” he said.

“The work undertaken throughout this operation has removed dangerous weapons and harmful drugs from circulation.”
The charges include trafficking in a controlled substance, dealing with the proceeds of crime, assaulting police, unlicensed firearms dealing, burglary and possession of stolen property.
Burke said the range of offences highlighted how firearm crime rarely occurred in isolation.
“What we are seeing here is a clear link to drug trafficking, stolen property and other serious offending,” he said.
“Targeted operations like this are key to preventing harm and holding offenders to account.”
