A collision between a truck and a public transport bus carrying 30 passengers has sent 17 people to hospital following a crash on the Southern Outlet at Kingston this morning.
Emergency services responded to the scene at approximately 7:30am after a Scania truck carrying quarry materials crashed into the rear of a TassieLink bus.
Initial police investigations suggest the bus stopped suddenly to avoid colliding with another vehicle when it was struck from behind by the truck.
Five passengers were transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital by ambulance services, while an additional 12 people were taken to hospital via an alternate private bus arranged by Tassielink staff who attended the scene.

All injuries are believed to be non-serious at this stage, according to police.
Police are now calling for witnesses to come forward with any information that might assist their investigation.
