A 17-year-old boy will face court tomorrow charged with murder following an alleged knife attack in Hobart’s Salamanca precinct that left a young man dead and another injured.
The teenager has been charged with murder, wounding and assault over Saturday night’s violent altercation in the Morrison Street car park.
Emergency services were called to the popular waterfront area about 11:45pm after reports of a fight between two groups.
A 20-year-old man died from stab wounds sustained in the incident.
A 23-year-old man remains in the Royal Hobart Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accused will appear in the Youth Justice Court on Tuesday.
Police believe the attack was targeted rather than random.

Police have not yet confirmed whether the knife allegedly used in the attack has been recovered.
Police are appealing for anyone with information who hasn’t already spoken to investigators to come forward.
Information can be provided to South East Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) on 131 444 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
