Over 170 students from competing schools across Tasmania have banded together to raise funds for the S.H.E. Foundation this weekend, donning teal socks at the Lake Barrington Schools Regatta.
Students from Fahan, Hutchins, Collegiate and St Virgils were pictured wearing the teal coloured socks in a touching sign of unity.
The S.H.E. Foundation raises awareness of gynaecological cancers in Tasmania, working to educate people about the signs and symptoms – and what to do if they experience them.
S.H.E. Foundation warrior Jo Harris lost her battle with cancer in 2023, with her widowed husband Scott Harris now leading the charge on the organisation’s efforts.
Jo and Scott’s two sons, Luke and Sam, were both students at The Hutchins School.
The JackJumpers also held their now-annual Teal game on Saturday night, smashing the Perth Wildcats 86/72 while raising funds for the S.H.E. Foundation.
The S.H.E. Foundation is currently working towards building a new cancer wellness centre in Hobart.
