Police said a 22-year-old armed man from Berriedale allegedly went to the home and fired a gun.

Both men are known to each other, police said.

The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting and the injury are still under investigation.

It is understood the suspect fled the scene but was tracked down and arrested by specialist police later that night.

He has since been charged with wounding, property damage, breaching bail, attempting to breach a family violence order, unlawfully setting fire to property and multiple firearm offences.

He remains in custody and is due to face the Hobart Magistrates Court this morning.
