A Glenorchy developer is aiming to build 36 apartments in Hobart’s north under a new proposal currently up for consultation.

Malunna Glenorchy Pty Ltd hopes to merge two Brent Street lots, 14 and 24a, to create one new 36-unit housing development.

The existing site currently houses a building, storage area and trees, all of which would undergo demolition should the plans proceed.

Plans recently submitted by the developer show that nearly all of the units would have the same design and universal layout.

Each two-storey unit would feature 3 bedrooms, with one including an ensuite, along with two bathrooms, a spacious lounge/dining area, storage spaces, a terrace and a carport.

Representations are currently open with the Glenorchy City Council until November 21, 2023.
