60-year-old man accused of attempting to abduct teen from Hobart park denied bail

A Hobart man accused of attempting to abduct a teenager in the city’s Queens Domain park has been denied bail.

Detective Sergeant Sam Storer yesterday said police received reports of a man trying to force a teenager into a vehicle at Queens Domain shortly after 8pm on Wednesday.

The man accused is 60-year-old Geoffrey Ross Brendan Goss, as reported by ABC TV.

“The youth was not physically injured and provided a detailed version of events including the man’s number plate,” Storer said.

Officers tracked down Goss shortly after the incident and took him into custody.

He appeared in Hobart Magistrates Court on Thursday, where he was denied bail.

Goss is scheduled to reappear in court in four weeks.
