Incident Controller Andrew McConnon said more than 70 firefighters from the Tasmania Fire Service and Parks and Wildlife, backed by nine aircraft, worked to contain the blaze.

“Work was undertaken yesterday to create containment lines around the fire, which has so far burnt more than 170 hectares and is currently uncontrolled,” he said.
