A 72-year-old Tasmanian man has been charged with allegedly possessing child exploitation material after police searched his property in the state’s south-east.
The Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team executed a search warrant at the Orielton property following an ongoing investigation.
During the search, police allegedly located and examined numerous devices which have now been seized and will undergo further forensic analysis.
The man was arrested and detained to face court, where he will face a charge of using a carriage service for child abuse material.

JACET comprises members from Tasmania Police and the Australian Federal Police, working together to investigate online child exploitation cases across the state.
Tasmania Police said online child abuse remained a serious crime.

The Orielton charge is the second child exploitation matter announced in Tasmania this week.
On Tuesday, a 57-year-old South Hobart man appeared in Hobart Magistrates Court accused of allegedly accessing child abuse material.
That man was granted bail and will reappear in court in February next year.
