Emotional tributes are flowing for a renowned sprintcar driver who was injured in a ‘severe high speed crash’ at Carrick Speedway near Launceston on Saturday.
Racer and farmer Adrian Redpath was flown to Royal Hobart Hospital for spinal surgery with a number of serious injuries, including a fractured sternum, fractured ribs, punctured lung and multiple lower back fractures after crashing during the race.
Over $30,000 has been raised for Adrian in just 24 hours, with more than 2,000 Tasmanians chipping in to help support the Redpath family.
GoFundMe fundraiser creator Sydney Wyatt said the funds raised will help support Adrian’s wife Bianca and teenage twins Jack and Laila while he recovers.

“Adrian’s back injury saw him flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital for spinal surgery where he remains currently.”
“At this stage his condition is serious and it’s going to be a long road to recovery.”
“Adrian is a farmer and needs his body to provide for his family.”
“Any donation will help to cover medical bills, travel and accomodation interstate while Adrian undergoes rehabilitation, and some financial support for the family while Adrian isn’t able to work.”
