The Royal Australian Air Force’s aerobatic display team, the Roulettes, will put on a practice show over Launceston Airport today.
The display comes in preparation for Battle of Britain commemoration events in Hobart this weekend.
Up to six Pilatus PC-21 aircraft will take part in the display, which will begin at 3:50pm.
The Roulettes will approach the airport from the south-west and perform to the north-east of the runway.
The flying schedule is subject to change at short notice due to factors such as air traffic control, weather and other aviation considerations.
“Safety, noise management and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of Defence flying activities,” a spokesperson said.
“Participating aircraft will operate with a view to minimising the impact on local communities.”
The aircraft will then conduct multiple flypasts over the capital on Saturday at 3pm and Sunday morning around 11:30am.
A RAAF P-8A Poseidon and two RAAF Hawk 127 lead-in fighters will conduct flypasts over the Sunday commemorative service at 11.00am and 11.30am, respectively.
