Andrew Marshall from Oldina has been crowned the 2025 Woolworths Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year, emerging victorious from a field of ten talented finalists at Quercus Park.
The competition, held on Saturday August 23, saw contestants tackle a series of challenging modules designed to test practical farming skills, agricultural knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
Marshall secured the major prize package valued at $20,000, which includes a Polaris Ranger SP 530, from a total prize pool of over $50,000.
Zac Leonard of Relbia claimed second place, with Chelsea Rayner from Lower Beulah rounding out the top three.
Charlton Skirving from Sheffield and Sarah O’Grady of Kindred completed the top five finalists.

The final rounds, featuring Quiz and Public Speaking segments, took place during the official dinner where the winner was announced.
Rural Youth Tasmania State President Amber Bramich praised the calibre of this year’s competitors.
“The talent and passion demonstrated by this year’s finalists was outstanding, however, Andrew was a strong competitor who stood out to the judges as an exemplary entrant and worthy winner,” said Bramich.
“The 2025 Woolworths Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year Competition is … a celebration of the innovation, resilience, and community spirit that young farmers bring to our industry.”
