Arrest made after man injured in Claremont petrol station dispute

Police have launched an investigation into a “wounding incident” outside of a petrol station in Hobart’s northern suburbs this morning.

Officers were called to the business on Main Road in Claremont just before 10:30am on Tuesday following a “verbal altercation” between a man and another group of people.

A man in his 20s was reportedly wounded by a 41-year-old man following the disturbance and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The 41-year-old man was arrested a short time later at a nearby business and remains in custody.

“Any witnesses to the incident who have not already spoken to police (or anyone with dashcam footage of the area at the time) is asked to contact Glenorchy Police on 131 444 and quote OR736179,” police said.

“Information can also be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers at crimestopperstas.com.au.”
