People are being told to avoid the Curries River Reservoir area in northern Tasmania as firefighters work to contain a large vegetation fire.
Tasmania Police issued the warning at 4:20pm on Saturday, urging people to stay away from the area about 10 kilometres east of George Town.
The Tasmania Fire Service is currently reporting two separate bushfires in the region.
One fire is active on Musk Vale Road near George Town, while a second blaze is burning near Beechford Road in Lefroy.
TasAlert says crews are on the ground working to bring the Lefroy fire under control.
The Musk Vale Road fire is being patrolled at regular intervals, TasAlert says.
“If there is any fire activity causing you concern please report it to the Tasmania Fire Service by calling 000,” TasAlert reads.
A local resident told Pulse the fire is large and that windy conditions are making firefighting efforts difficult.
A helicopter has been deployed to support ground crews, they said.
