Hobart is getting ready to light up the barbecue this weekend with the inaugural Flamin’ Franko festival.

Event Manager Madi Peattie said the addition of Australian Idol winner and Golden Guitar-winning artist Wesley Dean to the lineup is a “real coup” for the festival.

“Dean has played with some of the best musos in Australia including Jimmy Barnes, Ian Moss and INXS,” Peattie said.

The festival runs from 12pm to 10pm on Saturday

Dean, who has been electrifying audiences across the US, will play on Sunday afternoon.

The festival will also feature a themed Mexican space in Franklin Square called Rancho Relaxo, offering shaded seating stage-side for performances.

“Wood smoked, flame grilled, low-n-slow or charcoal seared, it’s all about cooking with the magic of fire,” Peattie said.
