A Belgian tourist remains missing in remote Tasmanian bush, six days after authorities were notified of her disappearance.

Search and rescue teams are continuing to comb the area around Philosopher Falls near Waratah in the north-west of the state for Celine Cremer, who was reported missing on Monday 26 June.

On Thursday, Tasmania Police said they had received ‘expert medical advice’ that indicated the conditions in the area were “not survivable”.

“Weather conditions have been challenging over the past few days, with freezing temperatures, snow and rain occurring,” police said.

Further searches of the area are continuing today, with Police and SES focusing on a track area near Butlers Road.

“Police continue to investigate Ms Cremer’s movements from 17 June 2023 after her white Honda CRV was located in the car park of the Philosopher Falls walking track on 27 June 2023,” police said on Sunday.

“Tasmania Police Search Controllers will commence a review of the search areas today.”

The Philosopher Falls walking track remains closed to the public.
