Tennis legend Venus Williams made the most of her brief Tasmanian trip, visiting Hobart’s iconic MONA before flying out.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion shared a video on Instagram dancing with her physiotherapist in the museum’s green room to Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love”.

Williams, who boasts 2.1 million followers on the platform, was later spotted at Hobart Airport flying out to Melbourne.

The 45-year-old’s stay was cut short after losing to sixth seed Tatjana Maria 6-4, 6-3 at the Hobart International on Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, the American’s enthusiasm for Tasmania never wavered.

“I’m just getting to Tasmania and I’ve never been here before,” she said.

“Never have I been to a place before where as soon as you walk outside, it just smells the fresh trees, like the forest, eucalyptus, pine. It’s incredible.”

She later described her excitement at being able to play in Hobart.

“I waited so long and always wanted to play here. Best place on earth,” she said.

The visit marked Williams’ first trip to the state, with the former world number one using the tournament as preparation for the Australian Open.

She has received wildcard entries to both events.

Williams returned to professional tennis last July following surgery and has embraced her comeback despite sitting at world number 582.

When asked if this could be her final Australian visit, she remained tight-lipped.

“I don’t know and even if I did know I wouldn’t say,” she said.

“Right now I’m focused on the moment.”

The Australian Open begins on Sunday at Melbourne Park.
