Tasmania’s east coast is coming alive today as the annual Bicheno Food & Wine Festival kicks off to a sold-out crowd of thousands.
The one-day celebration, running from 11am to 6pm at Bicheno Lions Park, is showcasing 32 stallholders offering the finest Tasmanian produce, from fresh seafood to locally crafted wines and spirits.
Festival Chairman Michael Symons said the event has evolved into a fixture on Tasmanians’ calendars while increasingly drawing interstate visitors.
“The weather on the east coast can be unpredictable, but that’s part of the charm,” Symons said.

“Whether it’s sun, rain, or a little wind off the bay, we know our guests are in for a fantastic time”
Live entertainment will feature throughout the day with performances from the Bad Dad Orchestra, The Pretty Things and Mumbo Jumbo creating a seaside soundtrack for festival-goers.

Now supported by Events Tasmania, the festival has become a significant economic opportunity for the region.
“It’s a real boost for the local economy, supporting our stallholders, local wineries, and the broader community,” Symons said.
“We’re excited to welcome everyone for another weekend of exceptional food, wine, and music – sold out and ready to go!”
