Teenagers arrested after flipping stolen car in Bridgewater Bridge crash

Two teenagers in an allegedly stolen car have been arrested after flipping the vehicle in a crash on the Bridgewater Bridge this morning.

The pair, both aged 15, failed to pull over for police on the Midland Highway around 8:30am on Sunday.

Officers deployed road spikes near the bridge, but the driver kept going and hit two other vehicles before losing control.

The teenagers then abandoned the car and tried to run but were quickly tracked down by police.

One was taken to the hospital as a precaution, while the other was taken into custody.

The causeway remains closed and is not expected to reopen until around midday.

Police said both vehicles that were hit sustained minor damage. The stolen car is understood to have landed on its roof.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to come forward.
