Former federal political staffer Bruce Lehrmann has remained tight-lipped after being spotted meeting with his lawyer in Hobart today.
The Mercury Newspaper followed Lehrmann on Tuesday to ask why he and solicitor Zali Burrows were in Tasmania, but were “met with silence”.
It is understood lawyer Burrows recently arrived in the state after representing Lehrmann in the Federal Court in Sydney last week.
The former staffer is appealing a judge’s ruling that found it was probable he raped Brittany Higgins and is also seeking a stay on a $2 million costs order to pay Ten’s legal fees from the defamation trial.
Lehrmann has not been seen in public since facing the media outside Toowoomba Magistrates Court in June over the rape allegations.
The former Liberal staffer is scheduled to stand trial in the Toowoomba District Court at a later date on two counts of rape.
