Popular burger outlet Burger Haus is set shut its Sorell location next month, in a move that is set to leave the once bustling greater Hobart chain with just one remaining outlet.
The restaurant announced via social media that its final day of trade at the Sorell store will be Saturday August 16, after four years of operation in the area.
“We’re incredibly grateful for all the love and support from the beautiful Sorell community, you’ve been a huge part of our journey, and we’ve loved serving you all,” Burger Haus said in its announcement.
The Sorell closure follows last September’s shutdown of the Burger Haus Eastlands location, which ceased operations after six years.

The dual closures mean the burger chain will retreat to its original North Hobart store, which the owners have described as “the OG” location “where it all began.”
While the company has not detailed specific reasons for the Sorell closure, they have encouraged customers to continue supporting local businesses.

“Be sure to support the new crew taking over the space, fresh faces, fresh ideas, we’re all about keeping the local spirit alive,” the announcement read.
