His belongings, including a white 2003 Holden Berlina, were stolen.
The man was allegedly hit with a pole during the attack and suffered minor injuries.

The trio were remanded in custody to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
A 19-year-old man was charged with the same offences but was released on bail to appear at a later date.
Police have described the matter as an “isolated incident” involving people who knew each other.
The stolen Holden, registration EW7676, has not yet been located.
Authorities have appealed for public help to locate the vehicle.
