Two teenagers have been arrested after a Metro bus driver was allegedly attacked with a broken glass bottle.
The incident occurred at Mowbray Hill on Friday night as the bus was travelling through Launceston’s northern suburbs.
Police said the driver asked the teenagers, aged 16 and 17, to get off the bus after he noticed they were drinking alcohol.
The young pair then punched and kicked the driver and struck him in the eye with the broken bottle.
He was taken to the Launceston General Hospital with injuries, the extent of which are unknown.
Both teenagers are understood to have left the scene and were located by police on Sunday afternoon.
They will appear in the youth division of the Launceston Magistrates Court on Monday.
