Emergency services have rushed to battle a vegetation fire burning alongside a major Hobart highway, creating visibility hazards for motorists.
The blaze broke out on Wednesday afternoon adjacent to the Tasman Highway at Orielton, northeast of Hobart.

Multiple fire crews are currently on scene working to contain the fire.
A Tasmania Police spokesperson urged drivers to take care.
“If driving in smoke. Turn on your headlights, drive slowly and be aware of
emergency services in the area,” they said.
