Chocolate maker Cadbury has announced a three-year extension of its partnership with Athletics Tasmania, continuing a relationship that spans more than 40 years.
The iconic Cadbury Marathon, which started in 1983, will continue to be supported by the confectionery giant, with the race starting and finishing at the company’s Claremont factory in Hobart’s northern suburbs.
Cadbury Claremont Plant Manager Jamie Salter said the partnership extension was a natural fit for the company.
“Cadbury has been part of Tasmania for over 100 years and we’re proud to keep that connection running strong,” Salter said.

“The Cadbury Marathon is a celebration of our community – of people coming together to stay active, enjoy life’s simple moments and be part of something special.”
The marathon has grown from humble beginnings to become a significant fixture on Tasmania’s sporting calendar, attracting thousands of participants from across Australia each summer.

Athletics Tasmania CEO Glen Taylor welcomed the continued support.
“The Cadbury Marathon is a highlight on the Tasmanian calendar and this continued support ensures it remains accessible and inspiring for runners and families alike,” Taylor said.
The 2026 Cadbury Marathon is scheduled for Sunday 11 January 2026, offering various distance options including a 42 km marathon, half marathon and family-friendly races.
The event also maintains its charitable focus, supporting the Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation by encouraging participants to fundraise for local health initiatives.

Registrations for the next Cadbury Marathon are now open through the event’s website.
