Hobart’s MACq01 Wine Bar is set for a change, with long-time operator Frogmore Creek preparing to move on.
The Tasmanian winery, which opened the venue in 2017, has confirmed it will be vacating the space in May.
Frogmore Creek CEO James Skabo said the venue had been a great way to showcase the winery’s Tasmanian wines and bring visitors to its cellar door and restaurant in Cambridge.
He said the time has now come to pass the baton to a new operator.

Taking over the lease is Oatlands’ Callington Mill Distillery, which plans to use the space to highlight its Tasmanian whisky.
Callington Mill Distillery owner John Ibraham said he had long supported Frogmore Creek and saw the move as a natural progression.

“We’re excited to extend our brand’s reach to Hobart and offer our visitors a chance to experience Callington Mill Distillery before they make the journey to our Oatlands distillery,” he said.
“[It is] a reflection of what Frogmore has achieved over the last eight years.”
Callington Mill Distillery was founded in 2015 and opened its cellar door in Oatlands in 2022.
The handover is set to take place in May.
