A man has been arrested after he allegedly terrorised multiple Launceston homes and a business in a short period on Saturday afternoon.

The 26-year-old is accused of confronting occupants at two separate homes in St Leonards and Kings Meadows, stealing car keys and a red Ford Ranger from one of the properties.

He is also suspected of stealing clothing from a business in Launceston and entering a home in Derby while two people were inside.

The stolen Ford Ranger was later found at the Derby address and the clothing from the business was located at a home in Launceston.

The man has since been charged with three counts of aggravated burglary, three counts of stealing, motor vehicle stealing, unlicensed driving and drug offences.

He was granted bail and will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court next month.

Police say nobody was physically injured in the incidents, but those involved are understood to have been left shaken up.
