A car has been winched out of the Mersey River after rolling into the water earlier in the week.
It is understood the driver forgot to engage the handbrake while they visited a nearby bottle shop, causing the car to roll down a bank and into the river.

Volunteers from the Julie Burgess Tall Ship were called in to assist in the recovery of the vehicle, which had sunk in the East Devonport area.
Using a winch, the volunteers were able to pull the car from the river.
No one was injured in the incident.
