Multiple fire crews are battling a blaze that started in a caravan and spread to a garage in Hobart’s northern suburbs this morning.
Firefighters from Glenorchy, Hobart, Bridgewater and Old Beach brigades responded to the fire on Lagoon Road in Otago around 10am on Thursday.

They arrived to find the caravan fully engulfed in flames.
The fire had already extended into an adjacent garage by the time firefighters reached the scene, the Tasmania Fire Service said.
Images from the scene show a large, thick column of black smoke rising into the sky from the fire.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
