Cannabis, knives and stolen property were seized during a targeted police operation spanning multiple Hobart suburbs overnight.
Inspector John Toohey said the operation focused on shopping precincts in New Town, North Hobart and Sandy Bay, as well as the Hobart CBD.
Taskforce Reprisal and the Dog Handler Unit worked alongside council staff to “monitor CCTV in real-time and provide an enhanced response capability”.
“As a result of the operation, four arrests were made, one summons issued, one person will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act and one person was referred to the drug diversion process,” Toohey said.

Offences addressed during the sweep included theft, bail violations, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying dangerous articles, receiving stolen property and failure to appear in court.
Among those apprehended was a 14-year-old girl charged with breach of bail, trespass and using abusive language toward a police officer.

Another 14-year-old was processed under the Youth Justice Act for possession of stolen property.
Adult arrests included a 22-year-old man charged with three counts of stealing, a 26-year-old woman facing four stealing charges plus bail breaches and a 43-year-old man arrested on drug possession charges and an outstanding warrant.
A 34-year-old man will face court via summons for cannabis possession and carrying two knives in a public place, while a 19-year-old was referred to drug diversion after being found with cannabis.
